Calm Paper Writing
I'm writing my paper for the Homer proseminar, which consists of translating and analyzing an "unseen" section of Homer, pointing out metrical and linguistic phenomena. I've been putting it off to the last few days, of course, so now I'm in a bit of a rush, but, oddly, I'm exceptionally calm as I work. It's linear work, without call for creativity or eloquence, and those are the major source of my paper-writing angst, so I'm serenely annotating Priam's plea to Achilles (Iliad, Book XXIV), listening to music, enjoying the two sleeping cats, and loving Greek more every minute.

"enjoying the two sleeping cats" pretty much explains the "I'm exceptionally calm" bit. Nothing is more relaxing than a sleeping cat in one's immediate vicinity except two sleeping cats (preferably snuggled up together).
