Eggroll Gig
Last night, I went to see Eggroll perform their own progressive-rock material, after enjoying their prog-rock covers gigs immensely. I was worried that their original material would not sufficiently interesting, but I was happily wrong. Their stuff is excellent, energetic, and very well executed. They're really fine musicians, and I look forward to buying their first album. I hope they get to make it abroad.

I'm very sorry I couldn't be there yesterday. I really wanted to but I had no where to sleep in TA and I had to be in B-S early... :(

The other assaf said he expects their new material to stink, but I told him what I thought. So happy I turned out right!

How were the quartet? Did they fit in?

I should get to hear their new material at another time...

Nowhere to sleep? Nonsense! What about the mansion?

The quartet did not contribute as much as they could, I think. They coloured some sections of some numbers, but they didn't really shine. It wasn't the fault of their playing, but of the arrangements and the balance. There was one specific number where they blended in very satisfyingly.

I was very pleased with the [trumpet|cornet|saxophone?] that visited for one number - he blended in rather well (although he could have been given a bit more voice too). Like the saxophonists they always had when doing their cover gigs, it blends in very well with their noisier moments.

The real question however is did you enjoy the bizarre trumpet piece that the sound man delivered out of the blue?

Can't say that it overwhelmed me with musical brilliance, but it certainly spiced up the introductions phase.
