I just saved myself some
85 NIS through noticing that the Israeli VAT has been reduced by one percent, effective July 1st, and alerting my computer hardware vendor that, since the computer has not yet been delivered, the agreed price must be updated to reflect the reduced tax, according to the law
[Hebrew, section 6, item 22].
I post this not so much to bask, but in case any of my Israeli readers have some ordered goods coming to them and are not aware of their right in this case. I'm pretty sure many vendors would try to benefit by omitting to mention the fact unless the customer explicitly mentions it.
