!אתה גדול, אתה

{whoosh! = sound of me rushing off to look at the LJ FAQ}

...and we, your faithful readers, will be noting manifestations...?

(...reminded again that I should really become a Paid user meself, out of respect & appreciation to/for LJ...)

Woot! Just remember that, while you can now make your own style, such a thing would SUCK your SOUL.... ;)

Oh, I was a regular paid account until today, so I could have done that before, too. But I'm genuinely uninterested in the externals of LJ. I'm a content-above-all kind of guy.

So if we continue to meet in person as dreadfully infrequently as we do (i.e. not since 10/01 IIRC?!?), you genuinely won't be shocked at how white my hair's gone, etc. when we eventually meet-up again?

Of course, you're keeping up pretty well with the ongoing content updates, so long as I'm keeping late hours again...!

Thank you!

Curious: What type of credit card did you use? (I'm wondering how good Authorize.net's international support is, without paying for the extra international support)

My pleasure! :)

I used my international MasterCard. I've been using it forever in e-purchases, at Amazon, CDNow, Powell's, etc. Many Israelis, however, have local credit cards, (e.g. "Isracard", a MasterCard franchise/partner) and those may not work as smoothly, or at all.

Hee hee hee Powell's. I've been there. As in physically. What a great place.

Powell's - not quite all things to all booklovers, I'm sorry to say.

I too, have been there; include a visit to Powell's on every stay in Portland, OR (to which fair city one of my brothers relocated many years ago).

I just want to mention: wonderful a place as it is for browsing and simply being under the roof of such a large building with so many rooms full of books -- their Judaica/Jewish studies section is pathetic. Woefully, disturbingly so. Little "Annie Bloom's" (a SW neighborhood bookshop) has more (much to my taste, and relief).

If I ever need a reminder why I, a fourth-generation American, feel I don't belong in the USA (not outside of ethnically-rich metropoli like LA & NYC, anyway), I need only recall the chill I felt at the paucity of Jewish-topic books in Powell's.

Likewise, attending the lovely Renaissance Faire in LA County, wondering how appropriate it might really be that I wear yellow robes with a big pointed hood, rather than pretend I was just some other average-white damsel in a long, flowery, tight-bodiced gown.
