That reminds me of my history teacher at the senior high. He always used to remind me of reading Ulysses. Each and every lesson begun by his words to me: "Have you read it by now?" And he was really angry, because I hadn't yet. Apparently I ought to make a promise to myself as well.
The unabridged Ulysses? Ye gads. I once managed to go halfway through it, before realising that no single work of fiction has ever given me such a headache. With all due respect to new forms and styles, who can bear reading through a whole chapter without paragraphs or punctuation marks?
