Ooh! Ooh!

Oooh, *envy*. Though I'm probably a bad companion for that sort of thing (aside from the "wrong continent" bit) because I'd be sooooo tempted to sing along....

(der gerechten Seelen sint in Gottes Hand, und keine qual ruhret sie ahn :)

(^^^ one of my favorite parts. Not only because it's a roller-coaster to sing (octave-and-a-half in four measures, up and back, fugal, theme never happens quite the same way twice), and because it's the most convincing musical rendition of a thunderstorm I've ever heard, but because the orchestra director for the first rendition of this I sang in once pointed out that the basses had a continuo low D the whole time and asked if anyone knew why and I just blurted out the translation -- "the righteous souls are in the hand of God" -- yes, Brahms wrote the hand of God into a continuo bass line. Does it get any better? No, no it doesn't.)

Ach, I must learn to read music soon. I can't wait to pore over scores (especially Wagner, but certainly also my favorite Requiems) and find such wonders.

If it was actually possible to buy time (no, I don't mean the various means of exchange I could employ to free up more of the time I have; I mean beyond that), I would be a returning customer.
