Do you know Stanley Rosen?
He's a philosopher (I mean, he's in a philosophy department) and philologist, but he made me read Plato as literature and rethink old distinctions between philosophy and literature (the book I know is called "The Quarrel between Philosophy and Poetry"). I read him about a decade ago, but as far as I can remember, much of his influence was due to the beauty of his own prose.
