Meir Ariel's songs do have this strange quality about them, don't they. I don't understand half the damn words, but still I consider them very, very beautiful.
Actually, Meir Ariel's song was contingent to this realization. But I'm thrilled to hear you enjoy his words! I think he used the Hebrew language quite uniquely. I'd be delighted to spend an evening with you and Ariel's songs, discussing the language, if you're interested.
oh, I'm not sure I'm quite up to the challenge, really.
I only know the two (or three?) of his songs they regularly play on the radio. I'm mainly enjoying his texts on purely sonic level, posessing neither sufficient background in Hebrew nor a good ear for poetry. now that I think about it, I'm not sure which factor deserves most of the credit here: Meir Ariel or the Hebrew language, though obviously they both deserve some of it.
