Yaakov Orland wrote twenty-seven poems containing memoirs and impressions from his many years of friendship with Natan Alterman. I'm reading that book now, and I'm very impressed with his language and his style. I also find the images he paints of old Tel Aviv and of Alterman himself very engaging and interesting. His poems certainly shed some light on Alterman's poems, such as the ones in his Cochavim Bachuts.
