My long-time squash partner is gaal. About six months ago, he abandoned me in favor of studying High Silliness in England. I had not played at all until his return. He, on the other hand, found Silly English Folks to play squash with, and honed his skills some (read: got his ass kicked, in an educational sort of way). Today we went to play again: double-court (90 minutes), as usual. I was worried that he would make short work of me, out of shape and out of practice as I am.

He didn't. Nor did I make short work of him. I won one match, he won the other, the third was 2-1 in my favor. Oh, but it's good to be playing again!
